About the site

Technical information about NSHU’s web pages

Screen settings and browsers for NSHU’s web pages are optimized for screen definitions of 1024x768 pixels or higher, for Internet Explorer version 5 or later, for Mozilla Firefox 1.0.x and later versions. These browsers are available for both Windows and MacOS operative systems. Our pages can be viewed with the 4.x versions of Netscape and Explorer, but we can’t guarantee that there won’t be some visual flaws.

Accessibility

Our goal is to make NSHU’s web pages as accessible as possible for as many viewers as possible. We try to accomplish this in the design and settings of the standard version of our website and by following international conventions as expressed by WAI, The Web Accessibility Initiative. For instance we are cooperating with the Funka Nu company in order to insure that our website is accessible to people with disabilities. Several of our staff has web accessibility training from Hjälpmedelinstitutet and Funka Nu.

Technology

All of our web pages are structured around a CMS (Content Management System) which is an integral part of our "Virtual Office" system produced by Empir.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that are saved on your hard drive that contain information. Cookies can’t damage your hard drive, and won’t spread viruses, program code, or scripts. You can control if and when to accept cookies.

NSHU uses a version of cookies known as session cookies. When you visit our web pages, a cookie is exchanged between your computer and our server. This cookie keeps track of the information you download during that session so that the same thing doesn’t get sent more than once. Session cookies are not stored permanently on your hard drive, but disappear once you close down your browser.

If you don’t wish to accept cookies you can always turn off that option in your browser. Then cookies will not be saved. Keep in mind though, that by refusing cookies many web sites won’t be displayed as they were intended to be seen.

Statistics

NSHU is obliged to report to the Swedish government on the volume of traffic at its web pages. We do this, however, without determining the identity of those who go in and check out our site.
